To all the Vikings out there, I can’t tell you enough how proud I am to be part of Smoky Valley. One thing that keeps repeating in my mind has been the middle school STUCO saying this year which is, “A ship in the harbor is safe, but that’s not what ships are made for.” Across the district we have all been changing and attempting new strategies to make each school better. We’ve not just stayed in the harbor or have kept things as they have always been...safe. We have changed, we have evolved, and now we will adapt to this new normal for a while, because we are not just going to stay in the harbor and wait this storm out. We are Vikings, and we will sail through this next struggle and come out the other side better for it. Our teachers are ready to get started with our Continuous learning and hearing from some students, you are ready to get back to some learning (and seeing your friends). So starting tomorrow, we will begin this new journey together and we can’t wait to see you all again!
