May 9, 2022 I Make a Difference
This month we are proud to nominate Bob Kohrs, aka Bobby Bones and Bobby according to the Kindergarteners, for the "I Make a Difference Award" for many reasons. Bob Kohrs has been in the Soderstrom Elementary Food Service for the past 4 years. We all appreciate Bob, not only for the outstanding work he does as our “lunch lady,” but for his unique personality and sense of humor. He is extremely entertaining and a joy to be around. He greets everyone with a genuine smile, making them feel special.
His daily announcements and poetry are heartfelt. Bob is an amazing example of what it means to love what you do each and every day. He brings positive energy to our building. Mr. Bob is special to our students. A 4th grade says, “I think Mr. Bob is loving, caring, funny, and helpful. I like him because he always puts a smile on my face and makes the world a better place. I can tell he loves each and every one of us. I think Mr. Bob is fantastic.” A 4th grader says, “Mr. Bob makes us smile every time we go to lunch. He is a great guy, always positive. He is nice, kind, and caring.” A 4th grader says, “I like Mr. Bob because he is always smiling and is funny. He always makes my day better. I just love hearing his voice every day.”
When you ask Bob what he loves most about his job, he says it is the kids. During his morning announcements, he uses poetry. He writes poetry so the kids have an upbeat start to their day. He enjoys serving breakfast the best as he gets to be the first face of Soderstrom the students see. He makes a point to say hello to each student. He wants to have a positive impact with each interaction he has. His attitude and laugh are infectious. Bob never turns down a hug or a fist bump. He wants each student to feel loved.
We are beyond blessed to have Bob at Soderstrom Elementary
