Lead Teacher
BA History/Political Science and Social Studies Education from Bethany College; MS Educational Technology from Pittsburg State University
This is my 20th year in virtual education.
I am originally from Chanute, KS and came to Lindsborg to attend Bethany College. After college, I lived in the Lawrence area and got a job teaching social studies for their local virtual school. I moved back to Lindsborg in 2008 but kept my Lawrence job. In 2022, I began working here at SVVCS as the Lead Teacher. I have two daughters and 1 cat. My oldest daughter, Jill, is 16 and a junior at Smoky Valley High School. She keeps herself and me busy with her many activities which include tennis, band, choir, piano, scholar’s bowl, and theater. My youngest daughter is named Abby. In May 2021, Abby and her dad, Phil, were killed in a car accident, Abby was 11 years old. Abby was a free spirit and always kept us on our toes! She was also very kind, loving, and she gave the best hugs! In my free time I enjoy reading books, being outside, and traveling. My daughter Jill and I like to go on adventures any chance we get! This past summer we went on an archeology dig for 6 days in June and then in July we spent two weeks in England and Scotland. Our next big trip is a driving trip to the southwest. We love visiting National Parks and will hit 4 of them on our next trip. We also love to snuggle on the couch with our cat, Sienna, and watch movies!
I love working at SVVCS because of all the people here: students, families, staff, and teachers. I am proud to work at a place that is making a difference in students' lives and helping them to reach their goals.
